When we first moved into out house we didn't have a mantle on out fireplace. My Dad had called one day to tell me the jobsite he was working on had a huge 12 ft beam that was going to be scrapped and if I would like he would bring it over. We were able to customize the size of it, and have my brother mount it above the tile. The detail in the wood grain came out really nicely after the staining and we are really happy with how it turned out, and we saved a lovely piece of wood that would have just been thrown away....
